Dr Venkat Canakapalli completed his BDS in 1993 and an MDS in Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics in 1999 in India. In 2005, he completed the New Zealand Dental Registration Examination process and is now a registered General Dental Practitioner who limits himself to Endodontic practice in Tauranga, New Zealand. With over 20 years’ experience as a dentist, he has long been devoted to providing the best care for his patients. Dentists all over the Bay of Plenty area entrust their patients to him for pain alleviation and oral health management, trusting in his compassionate and skilful care since 2007. His gentle care makes the root canal procedures more comfortable for his patients. His passion for this speciality has aided him in establishing a state of the art Microscope-centric practice to best serve his patients.
He travels the world to work with the most knowledgeable clinicians and keep up with the new and advanced tools and techniques available. He is the founding fellow of The International Academy of Endodontics, which was formed with the vision to create the foremost international endodontic and scientific educational experience for endodontists and their colleagues in dentistry, medicine and science.
In 2015, Venkat co-authored a textbook on endodontics, “Best Practices in Endodontics A Desk Reference” and the book is one of the bestsellers in its category. His true concern for the comfort and well-being of his patients is only matched by his passion to teach others to do the same. He is the course director at the International Endodontic Institute, which was established to promote advanced clinical education in Endodontics.
He enjoys serving the Tauranga community along with his wife Mithuna through their busy referral practice.
